  • Overview

    Position Purpose: Provide support to the construction and purchasing team to ensure our material take offs and orders are accurate and timely as well as managing costs within budget.

    Responsibilities

    • Lumber take-offs on existing and new product / categories as necessary.
    • System (Newstar) set-up, maintenance, and payment verification.
    • Liaison with internal Construction Management regarding plan / vendor / material adjustments.
    • Work with vendors and engineers to verify and manage lumber orders for all production housing.
    • Assist in the redline plan process; work with the architects and construction management, and communicate with the team regarding changes needed and/or required to plans.
    • Ability to research source of variances and communicate resolutions to team and other personnel.
    • Perform site visits and audits of material delivery.

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear. The associate frequently is required to walk and sit, and occasionally is required to stand.  The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to approximately 25 pounds.

     

    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

    While working in the field locations or homes under construction, dust, noise and paint fumes are common.

     

     

    Location: CB JENI / Normandy Homes Corporate Offices/Occasional Travel to Field Offices

    Qualifications

     

     

    Education: Minimum high school graduate.  Additional degree is preferred

     

    Experience: Must have 3-5 years’ experience in the homebuilding industry. Estimating/Construction/Engineering Management experience highly encouraged but not required as long as able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of home construction concepts.


    Competencies:
    Familiarity with CAD/DWF software.  Must possess good skills in communication, organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.  Intermediate skill in MSOffice Outlook, Word and Excel.  Prefer experience with Newstar, or ability to learn new software quickly.  Plan Swift estimating software experience is required.
