Overview

Position Purpose:  The Quality Control Supervisor must believe in, practice and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.

 

Improve construction quality and trade performance through jobsite inspections, audits, training, and education.

Responsibilities

  • Frequent inspections of construction sites
  • Increase the quality and performance of our trades
  • Increase the quality and performance of our Construction Managers
  • Have a direct impact on the improvement of Customer Experience Surveys
  • Have a direct impact on the reduction of warranty claims and expense
  • Effectively and professionally communicate required standards to all personnel
  • Assist the VP of Quality by researching product specifications and requirements
  • Create and conduct jobsite training events
  • Collect data and generate summary reports to identify areas for improvement
  • Review residential construction codes for application to specific jobsites and/or jurisdictions
  • Communicate construction standards and specifications effectively to field personnel on the jobsite and in-office training environments.

 

Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability:

  • The ability to interpret and apply site-specific manufacturers specifications and installation parameters on the jobsite
  • The ability to apply critical thinking on the jobsite to identify areas of weakness in personnel where additional training or monitoring may be needed
  • Effectively analyze construction performance on jobsites to determine the need for product changes, home design modifications, trade changes, or isolated training

 

Physical Requirements: Must have a vehicle capable of carrying supplies, valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among designated communities in daytime and nighttime.

Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; climb, balance and stoop, crouch or crawl; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.  Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree preferred

Experience:

  • 10 years or more experience in new home construction

 Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
    • Must be able to verbally communicate technical details professionally and clearly to all audiences
  • Must be able to quickly identify errors in single-family and multifamily construction
  • Familiar with construction sequencing and scheduling
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and preparing PowerPoint (or similar software) presentations
