Overview

The Executive Vice President Capital Markets must believe in, practice, and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how they approach their role at Green Brick Partners.

 

The EVP, Capital Markets is responsible for driving the strategy and execution for selling loans originated by the Green Brick Mortgage lending team into the Secondary Market.  The position plays a critical role in managing relationships with investors for loans sold in the Secondary Market and is instrumental in developing new products and services to adapt to the competitive landscape, thereby boosting net interest and non-interest income This position will drive the pricing strategy for all products and collaborate with other departments on the overarching product and pricing strategy for all consumer real estate mortgage products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and nurture investor relationships for Secondary Market loan sales, ensuring profitability and compliance with relevant policies.
  • Lead the design and introduction of innovative mortgage products for secondary market loans, responding to balance sheet strategies, market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Responsibility for ensuring all residential lending products achieve the profitability targets and risk profile within established company guidelines while remaining competitive in our markets.
  • Managerial and oversight responsibilities for pricing, lock desk and post-closing functions, as well as preparing required investor documentation.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive practices, recommending strategies to enhance product value and service excellence.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Operations to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, and third-party investor requirements.
  • Increase pricing and delivery sophistication to ensure best execution and optimize profitability within the company’s established risk parameters.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
  • Support the sales teams through product education and collateral creation.
  • Additional duties as deemed necessary by management.

Utilizes discretion, judgment, and high-level analytical skills to interpret complex situations.

 

Physical Requirements:  Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • BS degree in a business-related field (i.e. Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Business).

 

Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending processes, including origination, pricing, and secondary markets.
  • Demonstrated finance and data analysis skills.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple investor relationships.
  • Experience pricing and hedging loans for sale into the Secondary Market.
  • Experience working with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, GNMA, and other private investors.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with an ability to operate under demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate in a matrix environment, working across departments to achieve both company and department goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risk.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Creative problem-solver with strong research skills.

 

Experience:

  • 15+ years of progressive work and leadership experience in the Mortgage Banking industry with a focus on Capital Markets and Investor Relations.
