Overview

The Executive Vice President of Compliance must believe in, practice, and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how they approach their role at Green Brick Partners.

 

The Executive Vice President of Compliance is responsible for providing overall leadership and strategic direction for the Mortgage Banking Division’s Compliance Management System (CMS).  The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all lending policies and procedures are in full compliance with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations.

Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability: 

Utilizes discretion, judgment, and high-level analytical skills to interpret complex situations.

 

Physical Requirements:  Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Qualifications

Education:

  • BS degree in a business-related field (i.e. Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Business). MBA or JD preferred.

Competencies:

  • Strong practitioner knowledge of both loan fulfillment and loan servicing regulations.
  • Quality Control and Investor/Regulator Audit management experience preferred.
  • Experience working with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, GNMA, and other private investors.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with an ability to operate under demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and work on several transactions simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate in a matrix environment, working across departments to achieve both company and department goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risk.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Creative problem-solver with strong research skills.

Experience:

  • 15+ years of progressive work and leadership experience in the Mortgage Banking industry with a focus on Compliance management.
